’Rubber Soul’ Special Edition släpps den 2 oktober 2026
Rubber Soul – Special Edition, nymixad av producenten Giles Martin och ljudteknikern Sam Okell. Allt hämtat från det fyrspåriga originalbandet från 1965. Denna har flera av oss Beatlesfans väntat på under rätt lång tid. Ett tag såg det ut som om den skulle komma 2023, vilket den inte gjorde. Sedan trodde väl många av oss att 60-årsjubileumet 2025 skulle leda till att skivan skulle komma. Men icke sa nicke och de övriga som bestämmer på Apple. Men nu – 2026 den 2 oktober – bör vi få vårt lystmäte av innehållet i detta album, som banande en helt ny väg inom popmusiken, inte bara för The Beatles själva utan alla andra inom branschen.

Ett flertal av inspelningarna från Rubber Soul-sessionerna har dykt upp på tidigare arkiverade skivsläpp, vilket har givit en hint om vad som skulle kunna dyka upp i en omfattande skivbox.
På albumet Anthology 2, som kom ut den 18 mars 1996, kunde vi hitta:
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) (Take 1) inspelad den 12 oktober 1965.
I’m Looking Through You (Take 1) inspelade den 24 oktober 1965.
12-Bar Original (Take 2, edited) inspelad den 4 november 1965.
På den utvidgade Antologisamlingen (The Anthology 1-4) från den 21 november 2025 hade man lagt till:
In My Life (Take 1) – återfinns på Anthology 4.
Nowhere Man (First Version, Take 2) – återfinns på Anthology 4.
Utgåvan av The Beatles 1962-1966 från 2023innehöll också den nymixade versioner av flera inspelningar från Rubber Soul-eran, inklusive Drive My Car, Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown), Nowhere Man, Michelle, In My Life, If I Needed Someone och Girl tillsammans med den samtida singeln We Can Work It Out/Day Tripper.

Var och en av albumskivorna är pressade i 180-grams svart vinyl med plastfodrade innerpåsar i individuella albumkonvolut tillsammans med en 88-sidig inbunden bok med ett förord av John Lennon. introduktion av Paul McCartney, fotografier, bakgrundsinformation och anteckningar från varje spår.
