Lennons sällskap flyger från Frankfurt till London

Efter att ha anlänt till Frankfurt dagen innan var det dags för sällskapet att ta sig vidare till London denna fredag.

Under det att John Lennon och Yoko Ono var i Västtyskland gav de en intervju för James Gunter på den dagliga amerikanska militärtidningen The Stars And Stripes. Därefter gick de ombord på planet som tog dem till Heathrow Airport senare samma eftermiddag.

Booked on Air Canada for the flight to London, we were transferred without explanation and with no chance of redress to a Frankfurt-bound plane. Our triumphant if brief victory over the Powers of Deportation only slightly dampened, we were now thoroughly deported by our commonwealth cousins to Germany, of all the old ‘enemy’ places. It was the 25th anniversary of D-Day but despite this nurtured memory, we were of course perfectly well treated in Frankfurt and soon flew on, accompanied by presents for our families and a huge parcel of bizarre memories of a dreamlike fourteen days, to be welcomed at Heathrow by nobody I can now recall.

Familjen McCartney badar vidare i Grekland

Under sin semester på Korfu I Grekland, hyrde Paul och Linda  McCartney en villa för 125 pund i veckan, en minibil för att köra runt ön och en lyxig motorbåt för att kryssa i vikarna.
